Education premises can include classrooms, sleeping areas, kitchens, offices, halls, plant rooms, external buildings and spaces hired to other users. Occupancy, noise levels and evacuation needs can vary significantly between areas.

The fire alarm system must reflect the fire risk assessment, building layout and evacuation strategy. Device selection, alarm audibility, visual alarm devices, manual call points and relevant interfaces all need to be considered as part of the complete fire alarm design.

Installation and upgrades with minimal disruption

We can programme disruptive work during closures, holidays or agreed quiet periods, while completing surveys and lower-impact work during normal operation where appropriate.

Wireless or hybrid systems may reduce cabling and making-good in completed buildings. Wired systems may be more suitable during refurbishment or where routes are already available. We will set out the options clearly.

Planned servicing and organised records

Routine servicing is scheduled in advance with the nominated site contact. We agree when sounders may be tested, identify restricted areas and record any part of the system that could not be accessed.

Following the visit, you receive a clear record of the work, defects and next actions. Where repairs need parts or a return visit, these are quoted separately rather than disappearing in technical notes.
