What it is

Your legal EICR, sorted without the hassle

An EICR — an Electrical Installation Condition Report — is a thorough check of a property's wiring, consumer unit, sockets and fixed electrics. For rented homes in England it's a legal requirement: a qualified electrician has to inspect and test the installation at least every five years, and you need a satisfactory report to hand to your agent, the council or your tenant. We make that straightforward.

We test the installation, tell you plainly whether it's safe, and give you the certificate you need. If something needs attention, you'll know exactly what and why — and we can put it right and re-test, so you end up with a clean report rather than a to-do list. It's the same careful work whether it's a single flat or a portfolio of properties.

The report codes, in plain English

Every issue in an EICR gets a code, and they're simpler than they look:

  • C1 — danger present, needs fixing straight away.
  • C2 — potentially dangerous, needs putting right promptly. C1s and C2s are what make a report "unsatisfactory".
  • C3 — improvement recommended, but not a fail.
  • FI — further investigation needed to be sure.

A report comes back satisfactory orunsatisfactory. If it's unsatisfactory, don't worry — we'll talk you through the remedial work, quote it before we touch anything, carry it out and re-issue a satisfactory certificate.

Who it's for

Landlords, agents and homeowners

We work with private landlords, letting agents and managing agents who need EICRs done properly and on time, and with homeowners who want the reassurance of knowing their electrics are safe — for peace of mind, or when buying or selling. Whatever the reason, you'll get the same thing: a straight answer, a proper certificate, and any work needed handled without fuss.
