Signals are received around the clock by the alarm receiving centre, which follows the response plan agreed for the building. Monitoring is not an engineer call-out service and does not guarantee fire brigade attendance.

Really great service every time. Byron and his team are always lovely, friendly and professional, and they take the time to explain everything clearly and answer any questions we have. We used SES for our building's fire safety remedial works following an up-to-date Fire Risk Assessment. Byron had great communication from beginning to end and was very reassuring, not only during the initial visit but throughout the whole process. As a group of freeholders, we got several quotes and not only was Byron's quote the most thorough, it was also the most competitive for what was included. We also appreciated that Byron didn't put any pressure on us to proceed with his quote, allowing us to do our own research before making a decision. On the day itself, Byron and his colleague Ryan were diligent and polite, particularly as they needed access to every flat to fit the new sensors, and they managed the whole process impeccably. The aftercare was also excellent. Byron recorded a video for all the owners explaining how the new fire alarm system worked and how to carry out the regular testing. I would wholeheartedly recommend SES Electrical Contractors for any fire safety remedial works and electrical installations.

How often should a fire alarm system be serviced?
Commercial fire alarm systems should normally be professionally inspected and serviced approximately every six months. Some premises require more frequent visits, depending on the risk assessment and system requirements. We agree a suitable maintenance schedule for your building.
Can you take over servicing of an existing fire alarm system?
Usually, yes. We start by inspecting the system and reviewing whatever records exist — logbook, certificates, zone plan and any outstanding faults — and explain what we find. Once the system is in a maintainable condition, it can go onto a planned service schedule. Some systems need engineer access codes or manufacturer support; if that applies, we'll tell you.
Do you install wireless fire alarm systems?
Yes. Wireless systems can reduce cabling and disruption in occupied buildings, churches, listed premises and finished interiors. They still need proper design, commissioning and servicing, and they aren't right for every building — we recommend wired or wireless after surveying the building.
Are you NICEIC approved?
Yes. SES is an NICEIC-approved electrical contractor, so our electrical installation work is regularly assessed against the current wiring regulations (BS 7671) and we can issue electrical certificates. NICEIC approval relates to electrical work; our fire alarm work is designed, installed and serviced in line with the relevant part of BS 5839.
