SES is a fire-safety-led electrical contractor based in Chiswick, working across West London. We design, install, service, monitor and take over fire alarm systems to BS 5839 for businesses, landlords, managing agents, HMOs, churches and community buildings — from a base a few minutes from most of the area we cover.

Local, and it matters
Our workshop is on Stirling Road in Chiswick (W3), so most of the buildings we look after are a short drive away rather than the other side of the M25. For fire alarm work that's a real advantage: quicker attendance when a panel faults, servicing visits that are easy to schedule, and someone who already knows the area's building stock, parking and access realities before turning up.
West London is a particular mix — Victorian and Edwardian terraces split into flats and HMOs, mansion blocks and managed developments, listed churches and halls, busy high-street shops and offices, and newer riverside blocks. Each needs a different fire alarm approach, and working here day in, day out means we've seen most of them. It's the same careful, compliance-led work we bring to every fire alarm system — just close to home.
Local building stock
Much of the area is Victorian and Edwardian housing converted into flats and shared houses. Getting the fire alarm right here means the correct grade and category for the way the building is divided — usually under BS 5839-6 — without tearing the place apart. HMO fire alarms and wireless systems are often the answer for occupied, finished interiors.
Purpose-built and converted blocks bring communal fire alarms, smoke ventilation and stay-put strategies into play, usually looked after for a freeholder or managing agent. We keep the connected systems on one schedule — see blocks of flats & managing agents and AOV testing.
West London has a lot of much-loved, often listed, places of worship and halls. These need protection that doesn't cover the fabric in containment or disrupt services, which is exactly where a sympathetically designed church fire alarm earns its place.
From Chiswick High Road to Ealing Broadway and Richmond, commercial premises need BS 5839-1 systems, routine servicing and, increasingly, 24/7 monitoring so activations and faults are picked up out of hours. It sits alongside our wider commercial compliance work.
Newer blocks tend to have addressable systems that simply need a dependable contractor to take over the maintenance and keep the records straight. That's our servicing and takeover work.

Yes. Much of West London's building stock is period or listed, so we routinely design around historic fabric — often using wireless fire alarm systems to reduce cabling and disturbance, and working within any conservation or listed-building constraints.
